AJAX’s investment strategy is to focus on supply-constrained markets along the East Coast, with an emphasis on second tier markets and secondary submarkets of top tier markets.  Our team identifies well-located properties in those markets that it believes are under-valued or under-utilized.  Target investments will often be transitional in some respect, including lease-up, repositioning, rehabilitation, redevelopment, recapitalization situations, and ground-up development.

Ajax’s rigorous due diligence process ensures that the risks of each potential acquisition are well understood and are justified based on expected returns.  During due diligence, we devise a comprehensive asset strategy, with operational, development (as appropriate), marketing and financial components individually tailored to realize the full potential of the asset.  Leveraging its excellent network of private and public sources of debt financing, Ajax creates a capital structure that complements the operational strategy and maximizes equity returns.  Once acquired, Ajax executes its operational plans with a hands-on approach and by continually reassessing the property’s performance.  For opportunities that involve new construction or redevelopment, our team will leverage its construction and development experience along with strong relationships with local development partners in key markets.   The team’s financial markets expertise allows Ajax to identify, evaluate and execute investments in performing or non-performing loans backed by commercial properties, in addition to direct investments in properties.
